Title comments from a library acquisition/collection development perspective:
See AVweb.com's review of One Desert Jet Turner, as well as other review excerpts and reader comments included on this Elaborative page.

What will this title add to your collection?
What makes One Desert Jet Turner unmatched is the author's personal reflection on the following four subjects: 1) the science of modern high performance military aircraft, 2) the culture that surrounds jet fighters highlighting the man machine relationship, 3) fighter jet accident investigation, and 4) the tactical airlift flight engineer career.

It documents the service of a USAF non-commissioned officer who maintained fighter aircraft in the desert on Nellis AFB, Nevada, considered by many to be the Premier fighter base of the U.S. Air Force. Fighters are more prevalent in our skies now, zooming above many cities to enhance homeland security.

This title also details the author's transition/training from mechanic [crew chief {AFSC 2A3X3/431X1}] to C-130 flight engineer {AFSC 113X0C} ; sharing what it feels like to perform these jobs. We have not found another book covering this career progression from an enlisted person's perspective.

The book includes a detailed table of contents, index, and bibliography--useful for additional research. For these reasons we anticipate your patrons will enjoy discovering it in your library's New Book section and hope you will fax or email your order today, and or request your library eBook Vendor to acquire this title.
